Anouk Wipprecht is a Dutch-based fashion-tech designer and innovator who works in the emerging field of electronic couture, a rare combination of fashion design combined with engineering, science and interaction/user experience design. Part futuristic, part anime-meets-high fashion, her designs move, breathe, and react to the environment around them –designs that bring together systems around the body that gravitate towards artificial intelligence.
Wipprecht has produced works for the Black Eyed Peas, Cirque du Soleil, INTEL demonstrating their Intel Edison module and AutoDesk. Her work has been featured in international magazines, galleries and tv stations. She was the brainchild/curator of the 2012 TECHNOSENSUAL Exhibition and Artist in Residency program in Vienna/Austria, which coupled fashion designers and engineers together. Currently working at Microsoft Research Labs producing a new piece which will launch July 2015.
“We believe Anouk’s fashion-tech designs stand out in the ocean of “blinks & bleeps”… Both due to the specialized technology they make use of and the fragile yet strongly expressive quality intrinsic to their nature.” –V2
Wipprecht is currently based in Vienna/Austria, and travels between Amsterdam (NL) Los Angeles (USA) San Francisco (USA) and Montreal (CA).
