"Wyldcard Tarot Deck", is an electronic tarot deck, in a neo-edwardian style: blending modern digital technology with the aesthetic of 1900-1910 scientific instruments. Atop a case made from hand-planed black-walnut with custom brass fittings sit four e-ink tarot cards which "magically" change to reveal your fortune when a button is pressed. The tarot cards are custom-designed e-ink displays which have a paper-like quality. The images on the cards were created using a modern AI image synthesizer. The piece attempts to blend our interaction and understanding of the boundary between digital and physical while attempting to make the technology feel like magic.
