Deepsea Art Project

Our connection with the deepsea, such a far place could be so near by the heart The submarine Lula1000 took Lula sculptures (Lula means squid in Portuguese) 100m and 1000m down to the sea. Shown on Oct.25th in Milan as part of the #Essence [ART+TECH Festival](/orgs/codame/events/codame-art-tech-festival-2013) (2024) The world is full of mysteries. Often nature offers beauty and oddness beyond our Imagination. The world of sea creatures is one of the best examples. The idea is to deposit a piece of art at the bottom of the sea with the submarine. Through video, the piece of art - normally not visitable as it rests on the seabed - becomes "visitable" by anyone in this medium. The main idea for this project came up when Hanamaro was talking to Joachim and Kirsten Jakobsen, submariners and operators of the LULA1000 submarine. They proposed to Hanamato that they create a work for their long dive history with their submarine, Lula1000. It awakened her spirit to dedicate herself to producing a work as a tribute, and she also began to travel in her mind what the sea was for her.
