KHI Postdoctoral Fellowship
The Florence half of a joint KHI–ANAMED fellowship (spring 2024) at the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz. Fish Skin Magic compares the ritual use of fish skin in ancient Mesopotamia, where the fish-apkallu sage wore a carp-skin cloak, with its use by shamans in Arctic Indigenous cultures.
