The Scan Step inside ModBod3D — not to be captured, but to become. This is a full-body 3D scanning booth built for play. You don't pose for a camera; you improvise for it. Stretch, jump, grab a prop, strike something unexpected. A few minutes later, what emerges isn't a portrait — it's an interpretation. Fluid, imperfect, alive. Built from hacked Kinects, custom rigs, and a spirit of experimentation, ModBod3D lives at the intersection of curiosity and spectacle. The scan plays out on a large display in real time, pulling a crowd, turning the process into performance. The resulting 3D model arrives by email, loads instantly as a WebGL viewer on any phone, and can be customized with a brand's logo or background image. Standard format. 3D-printable. Ready to share. From house parties to conferences — if you can hold a pose for a few minutes, ModBod3D will keep it. A CODAME ART+TECH project built by [Dat Phan](https://codame.org/artists/dat-phan), [Jordan Gray](https://codame.org/artists/jordan-gray), and [Justin Kinder](https://codame.org/artists/justin-kinder). --- The Archive & Remix Over 700 body scans, publicly available under [CC BY 4.0](https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/) — free to download, remix, print, animate, or destroy. Browse the growing archive: [sketchfab.com/codame](http://sketchfab.com/codame) Artists have already taken the collection somewhere else entirely: animated GIFs, interactive web pieces, generative sculptures, live-event projections. The raw scan is a starting point. What happens to it next is open. Artists who have remixed the collection: [Mark Klink](https://codame.org/artists/mark-klink), Boned Dancers, HoloShatter, Rezmason, and Ami Wang. Want to commission a live stylization at your event, or a follow-up collab with an artist in the network? That's on the table too.
