Diego Martins

Diego Martins

**Diego Martins** is a Brazilian film director and visual artist with more than 18 years of experience across film and television. He is the founder and creative director of **A Dream By**, a studio dedicated to projects at the intersection of cinema, visual arts, and emerging technologies. His directing credits include the Netflix original series *MED*, *Sutura* for Amazon Prime Video, for which he served as general director, eight episodes of *Rota 66: A Polícia que Mata* for Globoplay, and *Hard* for HBO. He also wrote and directed the award-winning short film *ALGO_1*, starring Jesuíta Barbosa, which was selected for more than 20 international film festivals. Martins approaches generative AI as an artistic and cinematic medium within a broader filmmaking practice. His work moves between traditional production, hybrid processes, and fully generated images, while remaining grounded in narrative, performance, atmosphere, and emotion. He created and produced the AI-generated sequences for *Pensamentos Intrusivos*, a Porta dos Fundos series for Paramount+ and one of the first Brazilian fiction productions to integrate generative imagery directly into its narrative. Through A Dream By, he develops authorial works such as *Dream 01* and *Sopro (Blow)*, exploring dreams, spirituality, memory, and imagined forms of existence beyond life. His work has been presented at Artefact AI Film Festival at mk2, ASVOFF, Miami Art Tech Summit, Times Square during Frieze 2026, and Marte Gallery in Medellín. It has also appeared in *The AI Art Magazine* and *creAtIva AI Art Book Vol. 9*. Moving between established cinematic production and emerging forms of image-making, Martins uses technology to expand the language of cinema without abandoning its essential foundations: authorship, emotion, and human presence.
